World Day of Prayer
On Friday 6th March, several members of Darwen Central URC, joined many fellow Christians at the beautiful Wilpshire Methodist Church, to celebrate the World Day of Prayer. This was during the week of International Women's Day.
The Service was led by Revd Noma and Revd Daleen and organised by Churches Together In Lancashire in North Blackburn: North Blackburn URC, Wilpshire and Lammack Methodist and St Peters and St James C of E.
The resources: I will give you rest, come, were written by women in Nigeria, and during the service we reflected on the challenges faced by people in the country, and saw some uplifting testimony from women living there. We also remembered people facing conflict around the world. Many women in the congregation wore traditional African dress.
The whole service was very meaningful and inspiring. Thank you to everyone involved.
