Daniel Harris Raises £1,000 for Homeless Veterans Through Great Tommy Sleepout Challenge

Daniel Harris has successfully completed the Great Tommy Sleepout in support of homeless armed forces veterans, raising an impressive £1,000 for the cause.

Taking on the challenge across the rugged West Pennine Moors, Daniel walked 10 miles before camping out overnight in cold and demanding conditions—an experience designed to offer a small insight into the hardships faced by those without shelter.  Despite the tough weather, the journey was marked by a moment of beauty, as Daniel witnessed a marvellous sunset over the moors.

The funds raised will go directly towards supporting homeless veterans, helping provide essential services such as accommodation, mental health support, and pathways back into stable living.

Speaking after completing the challenge, Daniel Harris said:  "It was a tough but incredibly rewarding experience.  Spending a night out in the cold really brings home the reality that many veterans face.   I’m proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and funds for such an important cause.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this!"

The Great Tommy Sleepout is a nationwide initiative encouraging participants to brave a night outdoors to support former service personnel who are experiencing homelessness.  £1 million has been raised nationally.

Daniel’s efforts highlight both the physical challenge and the human impact behind the campaign, demonstrating how individual action can make a meaningful difference.
