Carver Memorial Church Building Service of Celebration

On 31st January we held worship to celebrate all that Carver Memorial Church building had meant to so many people.

The church was full with present and past members as well as those from the community as we shared in worship led by Revd Martyn Coe and included contributions from past minsters Revd Lis Mullen and Revd Stephen Thornton.  We also remembered Revd Alan Gaunt as we sang his hymn Eternal God, Your Love’s Tremendous Glory.

The keys were formally handed over to the Moderator of the North Western Synod and we received words of welcome from the Methodist Circuit Superintendent.

This was followed by a time of fellowship over tea and cake.

Although we have said goodbye to this building, our journey of faith in Windermere continues.  Carver Uniting Church has moved to the Methodist Chapel on the high street in the village and we will now be known as Windermere United Church.
