Induction of Synod Moderator
The Revd Richard Church will be inducted as Moderator of the North Western Synod of the United Reformed Church at 3 p.m. on Saturday 1 September 2007 at Manchester Cathedral. The Revd Elizabeth Caswell, former Moderator of the General Assembly, will preside and the preacher will be the Revd John Proctor, Director of New Testament Studies at Westminster College, Cambridge. All are welcome at the service; tea and coffee will be available afterwards.
Richard Church comes to the North Western Synod for the Eastern Synod, where he has been Training and Development Officer for the past five years. Previously he had served in pastorates in Essex and Surrey. He is married to Sheila and they have two sons and a daughter.
