D4 Disability Discrimination Act 1995

1          The PLATO entry is comprehensive and explains why the Act came into force, how it affects churches, what churches should do in order to comply with the Act, what an access audit is, who should carry it out and what should happen if changes to the building are required.   Finally, it deals with Listed Buildings specifically in relation to other legal requirements and what assistance may be available.   Before taking any action in this matter it is advisable to read the PLATO document and speak to the Trust Officer or the Convener of the Synod Resources Committee.
