Midweek services are held every week at 11.00. They are informal services and tea/coffee and biscuits are served afterwards. Services last 30 minutes.

Planning permission has been given for the building of the new church. Bury is due to go under redevelopment called 'The Rock Triangle' and our church is right in the middle. Originally it was thought we would be retained but this was changed and Bury URC was promised a new building in replace of the old church. In the beginning it was a difficult choice to locate somewhere suitable, but we did and it is finally going to go ahead.

Anniversary service at Bury URC 8 January 2006 was presided over by Rev Keith Forecast with a buffet lunch after service. Other guests included the Mayor & Mayoress of Bury and David Chaytor MP. The attendance included members from the other two churches in the pastorate - Besses URC and Blackford Bridge URC.

Sad news of the death of Hugh Williams our local church leader and elder of the church in December. His death was sudden and unexpected and brought shock to his family and church friends. Hugh was our pulpit supply secretary and Mrs Pam Rowley has taken over this role. She has a hard task to follow in Hugh’s footsteps. Hugh will be sadly missed for his warm friendly smile and melodious voice. He always had a smile and was a joy to talk to.
